My little Brighton is probably the funniest person I know. I love spending the days with him; we just laugh and laugh. Here are some of our recent conversations:

Driving in the car

B: Mom, sometime I am going to sit up there and you will be back here with Troy

Me: Yes, you will get to drive someday

B: You better watch out mom! I'm a crazy driver!

Me: Yes you will be!!

B: Call dad and tell him that

(He is into having Chris and I tell each other things from him)

B: Mama, sometime I will have a ring like that, but mine will be one like daddy's

Laying in bed after Chris had just been in

B: Mom sometime I am going to be HUGE!

Me: Yep, you are getting bigger everyday

B: Like as big as daddy! Mama, why are you not so big?

Watching The Incredibles

B: Mom, why does Mr. Incredible have boobies?

Me: Well, we all do, just sometimes boys' are small

B: Like mine? They are not big

Me: Nope, but see you still have some

Funny sayings he comes up with

-Ima mix you like hot chocolate milk

-I'ma change you like a diaper

-I'ma put you in the oven and cook you

-I'ma feed you like baby food

-I'ma scoop you like a spoon

He also tries to say things that he thinks will make me mad so he says, "Sucka" but its kinda cute and funny -he's not supposed to say suck. He also says things like peanuts and other such words trying to remember the name of his boy part :)

We had such a fun year and had so many wonderful things happen to our family

Here is our top 11 events in 2011 (Chronological Order)

v Chris started a car dealership, Velocity, in Lehi which sells an outrageous amount of cars each month. Its been a blessing and such a fun new opportunity

v Brighton turned 2: terrific and terrible at the same time. He has such a strong personality; and is so funny!

v Introduced baby Troy to the world! He came on his scheduled date, and is the cutest little baby. He quickly loved his brother and they are little trouble makers together already.

v Shani had her last day of teaching and became a full time Mommy. I am so lucky to have taught for 6 years and had such wonderful students. It is fun to keep up with them on Facebook. I will miss teaching greatly but love being with my boys all day long.

v Went to Newport Beach with the Albrights; Brighton had a blast playing in the waves and with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousin K, Troy had a little bit of a harder time with so many people around and no schedule but he will love it next year.

v Chris had his 10 year reunion in Washington. We were able to fly there and spent time with his parents as well; flying was so much nicer than the 11 hour drive and we got to enjoy time at their lake

v Chris got to drive a Lamborghini all around Vegas for his birthday, he is now even more obsessed with them and talks everyday about getting one.

v Halloween: Brighton was Spiderman (shot webs at everyone in his way) and Troy was a very adorable dinosaur

v Cooked our first Turkey for Thanksgiving-Chris did most of the work while I cheered him on giving instructions

v Cruised the Caribbean with Brighton and the Birds while Troy stayed with his Albright Grandparents; curing him of his Only Mommy ways. The cruise was amazing and it was fun to have some one on one time with Brighton

v Celebrated Christmas with the entire Albright clan! We saw Christmas lights, made gingerbread houses, went hot tubbing, and opened lots and lots of presents. It was so nice to have everyone there.

I can't believe that my little boys are so big already! Where does time go and why do children change so fast? Both boys are celebrating half birthdays around this time of year.

Troy: 6 Months

What? My baby has already been around for half of a year? That is just unbelievable to me, but the calendar says its true. Life with Troy is so much fun! He is such a smiley baby and loves people to pay attention and talk to him. He loves to scream with excitement, splash in the tub, and play toys. Brother is learning how to share and gets better everyday. Troy has learned to sit very well on his own. He is still learning to like eating; for some reason I can only get a few bites in before he starts crying about it and we give up. He is still learning to sleep at night (sad); he seemed like he would be a better sleeper than Brighton but has proven other wise. (He is also a thumb sucker, which I gave into thinking I would get a good sleeper out of it) I put him down for naps and bed time fully awake and he puts himself to sleep so we should not be having these problems. Naps last about 30 min, he has recently started getting better at longer ones, but it is hit and miss. Some nights he sleeps clear till 5 or 6, which is great, but some nights he is up at 2, 3, 4, and 5 and 6. He usually sleeps till about 830 or 9 which is nice. He is finally nursing well, unless distractions are around! Sadly I have to start weaning him because we have a cruise coming up in December that he is not coming to. Right when we get things right! And, he hates the bottle! Oh man!! He is the biggest momma's boy I have ever seen. If I'm in the room I am the only one he is happy with. He is great at reaching and grabbing and can hold his body up so high! He absolutely LOVES Brighton. He watches everything that Brighton does. I know he will quickly start to mimic him. The best is when Troy laughs while Brighton is throwing a tantrum, which just makes B madder :) Troy is such a little Rolly Poly. I can't put him down anywhere but carpet now cuz he will just roll off. He can also scoot in a circle, but not forward yet. He loves to sleep on his tummy and is just TOO cute. I love his blonde hair and curly cue in the middle of his hair line.

Brighton: 2 and a half years!!!

Wow! We have made it so far with this crazy Tot. He has one of the biggest personalities I have ever seen; and changes his mood quite quickly. He is so goofy; loves to dress up (esp in his spiderman outfit) but also loves hats, necklaces, belts, anything he can add to an outfit. He still loves his doggies but has added to the collection of things he needs in his bed to sleep: 2 Blinks, Winsten, Big Pooh Bear, Little Pooh Bear, Blue dog, Blue bear, froggies (corn feet warmer), 2 blankets, little blue pillow, car pillow, and monkey pillow. Oh I forgot Sully as well. He is very quick to know if something is missing. He is getting ready to potty train. Tells me when he is peeing, poohs on the potty, and can get the diaper off. He used to be a great napper but has recently been fighting me on it! He will stay and read in his bed for hours instead of sleeping, a good activity, but without his 3 hour nap he is SOOO cranky. He has become a master staller at nighttime and his routine is now over an hour long-we need to fix that. Brighton has a great imagination, he loves to run around the house punching, or shooting fake bad guys, or smashing pretend bugs. He has gotten a million times better at eating and will try every meal I make. Of course he still downs milk all day long. Brighton is so athletic. He loves to run and chase. He learned how to flip and loves to show everyone. Of course, he continues to show all who come over his new room, even if you have seen it a million times he will still ask. I'm glad all my hardwork paid off! He got in a phase where he liked to say mean things he was thinking (ex. I'm gonna punch and kick you, I'm gonna push you in the street...) so I taught him nice things to say and do. Now he tells me "Mamma, your so pretty" everyday haha! He loves his brother but does not like Troy to touch his stuff or worse: look out his car window. Why this bothers him, I have no idea! He gives him HUGE tight hugs and tries to pick him up. If Troy is not in sight he will ask for him. He loves to show off for his little brother and always talks about the things they will do together when he is bigger. Brighton is fascinated by the fact that he and everyone else used to be in someone's tummy. He says, "I was in your tummy mom, then I popped out! It was yuck!" He has been so excited about his new cousins baby Aliyah and Oaklei. His best friends are Kherrington and Tanner and Madison. He just LOVES to play with them as often as possible. I love this big kid. He makes me laugh every single day.

Yellow Loves

Chris brings home a new car each night from the dealership for him to drive. He loves driving a different one everyday. Me, on the other hand, loves driving my truck. She has been my car for 10 years. Now that we have two kids we decided the time had come to sell my beauty and get me a mom car. She was on the lot for under a week. Everyone that came said that the truck was in such great condition still and couldn't believe it. I was so sad the day that the truck sold but am excited for my Acura MDX mom SUV. Thanks little yellow truck for all the good times!

Chris' favorite yellow car happens to be a lamborghini! He has been working so hard at his new dealership, and very long hours. They have paid off though! So we decided for his birthday he could splurge a little and rent the car of his dreams for a couple hours. Grandma Megan watched our two boys and we drove all over Vegas in this HOTT ride. Chris had the time of his life. The night before he was all giddy, told me he couldn't sleep and that it felt like CHristmas Eve when he was little. While driving he called all his friends so they could just listen to the noise. It was cute to see him so excited. He said he has to do this at least once a year from now on; we'll see.

Coupon Trip

So Nikki has been teaching me the world of couponing. She is so much better than I am at it but I feel very successful after today's trip. I am stalking up on my non food items by using double Tuesdays at Walmarts in Utah and was quite successful today. I would like to get better at price matching my food at walmart to bring down the grocery bill. I recently learned that you can buy coupons online and then you don't have to have a paper. That really helps with stalking up on certain items for cheap. I also print a lot of coupons from coupons.com and other sites like that.

Troy's Blessing

We blessed Troy last Sunday. We were a little worried about Troy crying through the blessing but he stuck his little thumb in his mouth and did great. Chris did a beautiful job on the blessing. It was so nice to have all of our families here for the blessing.

Plane Ride

Chris had his 10 year high school reunion this summer in Washington. Because of his dealership we weren't able to be gone for too long, and with two crazy boys we felt the drive would take longer than its worth so we splurged and bought plane tickets. Brighton loved the flight, peanuts, sprite. He danced on his seat pretty much the entire time. Troy was a great flier as well and barely caused a seen. The couple in front of us told us that they didn't even know we had an infant behind them. We were able to get in early Thursday and leave late Tuesday so we had extra hours both days to spend time with the family.

Beach!

I know this post is a little late, but better late than never. I am so blessed to be able to go to the beach every year with my family. I have been every year since before I was one. Most siblings have had to miss a year or two but luckily I haven't. We didn't know for sure if everyone was going this year but by the end of the week we had everyone in our family in the house! It was such a wonderful vacation but had a few set backs. Brighton got sick on our way down and the sickness seemed to pass through the family. Troy was still getting used to life and had a little bit of a hard time. Chris wanted to try a few new things this year so we found a tide pool with lots of crabs and explored a beach south of the wedge. We also took Brighton to his first movie on the big screen CARS 2. He stood most of the time watching through the chairs in front of him, and Troy slept through the movie. As always the beach was a blast and we can't wait to go back. Thanks mom and dad for taking us!!

Troy's Second Month

Troy's second month was a little less hectic as we tried to get our lives together. We were alone for most of it, but towards the end we were able to go to Vegas and the Beach for a week! Troy continues to grow well. He is still a great nurser and is hungry every 2 ½ - 3 hours. His crying really peeked this month and I didn’t know what to do with him. We went to the Dr. at 6 weeks to make sure everything was fine. Troy was already 11 lbs and the Doctor said since he is growing and eating well we have nothing to worry about; he just might like to cry. I figured out that Troy likes to sleep after being awake for an hour and a half, no longer! He also likes to be held outwards with a little pressure on his tummy. After learning this, his crying fits decreased. He wakes him self up many times during a nap and has a hard time falling back asleep. Night time is a gamble, I never knew what I was gonna get. Sometimes he slept 5 hours and some nights he woke up every two. I think this was our month with the least amount of sleep! Troy started liking to lay on the floor and smile as you talk to him, but of course don’t leave him for too long. Even with the crying and lack of sleep he is still a doll and we love him more everyday.

Since we got back from our beach vacation I decided to try a swaddle sack for Troy. He loves it and has taken really good naps for the past two days and slept well at night. Why I didn't try this sooner is beyond me!

Brighton loves little Troy. He likes to kiss him and hold his hand. He worries about him when he is crying and always wants to know where he is. I love their brotherly love!

We made it!!

Our first month is officially over and what a month it was. I am so lucky to have had my mom and mother in law stay with us to help me recovery and learn how to deal with two boys. I was so nervous when I was left alone but have made it through and am enjoying my time as a stay at home mother of 2. Brighton loves Troy more everyday. He gives him hugs, tickles him, and will sit in front of him to chat. If Troy is not in the room he will ask ask where is Troy? He does not like when I nurse and becomes very needy at this time. It is so fun to see the boys friends already.

Troy is growing quickly. When he was born he was 7.8, by his 2 week check up he was already 8.9. Troy is a good nurser who eats every 2 ½ to 3 hours. He will go 4 hours at night, which is nice for his mommy. He has been a good sleeper since he was born; he has never had his nights a days mixed up like Brighton did. After eating he spends a little time awake then takes at least an 1 ½ hour nap. He has gotten much better at sleeping in his Pack n’ Play crib. When he was first brought home he did not like it in there. Troy is a great snuggler. He hates getting his diaper changed and laying by himself on the floor. He likes to have tummy time with his brother a few times a day. He can lift his head up and move it to the other side. He also can make eye contact and hold it. We have been able to even get a couple of smiles out of him. Troy gets a little ornery in the late evenings, but other than that he is a pretty happy baby. He has the biggest cheeks and I have a feeling they will continue to get bigger and bigger!

Our first week: Family of four

Wow! Time sure does fly. I can't believe my baby is over a week old already. We have had a very busy but fun week. Don't you love when people type long extensive blogs just so they can have it for their memory? Well here's mine. ..

No Labor, But Delivery: I really thought that I would have this baby early, and boy did I hope that would happen, but baby Troy was very content and cozy in my big belly and stayed in clear till his scheduled date. I was 39 weeks, and very ready to have him come out. What a different experience it was this time knowing exactly what was happening. It was nice not going into labor and not dealing with the whole "pushing" aspect of things, but it was also very scary to know what adventure my body was about to embark on. My neighbor Aly is a labor and delivery nurse so she met us at the hospital to help with my delivery. My mom, Chris, his mom, and Brighton all came. Brighton and Kim left when it was time for surgery so he could have his nap and come back afterwards. I hate IV's and am always nervous for that part. My first one the vein blew so Aly had to try again on my other hand. I hadn't eaten since the night before, my doctor said no water or even chewing gum; so my veins were very small and dehydrated. Luckily we got one in and working. Then I got hooked up and waited for a bit. Our doctor came in and said they were just waiting on the anesthesiologist to finish up with someone else and then we would get going. It was weird to walk myself to the operating room and sit on the table. I got an epidural and spinal, they called it a double. Then I laid down and began numbing while they prepped me. I felt a few tugs but nothing too bad. Chris sat by me and was very sweet the whole time. As soon as Troy's head was out he started screaming. Everyone joked about his angry temper. After getting cleaned up and checked Chris brought him over to me; he had stopped screaming by then and kept poking out his long tongue, an Albright trait for sure! Then Chris left with him to the nursery. While getting sewed and stitched I became very nauseous. I hated having to throw up while I knew they were putting me back together. What a miserable thing! Aly was still with me and held my hand since Chris was gone. Then I went to the recovery room and fell asleep for a bit.

Troy's blood sugar level had been a little low so they couldn't wait for me for him to eat. He had a little formula before we were together so he wasn't hungry for a while. It was so cute when Brighton was brought back to meet his little brother. He marched in the room just as happy as can be and looking so big. He held him and just giggled. My mom said it sounded like he was saying "I've been waiting for you brother". Brighton visited us everyday. He would run in and say Hi Troy! but then mostly ignore him while he ran around the room and hospital. He would help push Troy around when we went on walks and had to be bribed to stay in our room. Brighton enjoyed staying with Gramma Megan. She took very good care of him, fed him lots, and bought him toys. He missed us though and always had a hard time leaving.

The first day all our families came to visit and see the new baby.

Chris had to go to a wedding one day and into the dealership another so I spent some time alone in the hospital. It was nice to have the time to bond just Troy and I. He was a good little eater and ate about every hour and a half to 2 hours, and mostly slept the rest of the time. My recovery has been incredibly different this time around. Even at the hospital I was able to do so many things on my own that I couldn't do the first time. My pain has been so much less and I am feeling good already. What a blessing since I have a crazy 2 year old as well now. I feel like being a mother of a newborn is easier this time too but then there are so many new challenges since I do not only have the one. Each day in the hospital got better and better. The nurses stopped bothering us so much at night and I was feeling better and better. Troy would sometimes go to the nursery but I hate when they keep him longer than 3 hours and give the babies that sweeties sugar water. He got a little Jaundice but has been able to work it out on his own. No funny blue lights for him! My IV stopped working early the first morning. The nurse tried to "Flush" it which just pumped a ton of water into my hand and bloated it up huge. They were able to take it out and leave it out luckily. Other than that it was pretty much smooth sailing.

My mom has been staying with us this week and has done all the cooking, cleaning, getting up with Brighton every morning and attending to his every need. I am so lucky that she is here! Chris is back at his dealership full time since they are still a new business so he is unable to be home as much as he would like. Next week his mother is staying with us and we will be just as grateful to have her!

Troy is doing wonderful. He sleeps well at night, about 4 hour stretches; which would be longer if his annoying mother didn't wake him up to eat. He is still so little! He does not like to sleep by himself though. We work day and night on putting him in the pack n play but somehow he convinces me that the bed is better. We will get there though and a few snuggly nights are ok by me. He continues to eat often during the day, but struggles to stay awake during his feedings. He is usually out within the first few minutes. He received his first sponge bath on the first day home because his little wizzer went off and soaked his whole self. We have been more careful since then and have only had one other accident. Troy seems to have a little bit of a gassy tummy and needs lots of burps, which Brighton likes to help with :) He is a great snuggler and does not like to be by himself. When I need him to wake up I just lay him on the ground alone and soon he will be awake and telling me he is not happy. The first day we had Troy we thought he looked very different from Brighton. Each day he began to look a little more like him. They do however have different lips, and although they both have lots of hair Troy's is lighter, maybe a little longer, and a little less. I love my hairy babies! I look forward to having Troy in our family and seeing more of his personality come through everyday!

Brighton was very excited when we all came home from the hospital and was so excited for his brother to be there. Then he had to lay down ground rules that Troy could not play with his toys or sit in his booster. They have been getting along ever since. Bugs likes to hold him a few times a day and will say "Hi Troy" whenever he sees him. He is adjusting to splitting his mommy's attention and will get better at it. It is a good growing experience for him.

Here is Troy! We called him Tad in the womb, so it is a little hard to completely switch over!

Chris is such a good dad and loves his new little boy, and his big boy too!

I had a nice cheering section in the hospital! Chris's mom and my mom were there with Chris and Brighton to give me morale support! Then Kim and Brighton went home when I was going to deliver. Of course they came back later that afternoon. Ally was my nurse, and did such a great job! I love my new little baby boy and am so happy for our blessings of a happy healthy baby!

38 weeks!

I'm excited that soon I will have another one of these at my house! I am the most girly girl, and am surrounded by boys! But I love them and can't wait to meet the next one. I think Brighton has been "nesting" as well. He says that the baby is in his tummy and will suck in and out to make it move. He will also point to a spot on his belly and say "foot". He takes care of his HUGE pooh bear everyday by changing its diaper, putting on desitin, baby powder, rocking it, feeding him, wrestling, and snuggling. He will be the best helper!

Last time I had Brighton by now, I never made it to my 38 week. He was already 7.7 lbs and I think this baby is a big one as well; but he is very happy just hanging out in my belly. I'm feeling fine but not sleeping at all! Tomorrow my family and Chris' family are coming into town for graduations. Baby Tad decided to wait until everyone was here for his arrival. I am scheduled next Tuesday to have him. Everyday I think more that he will make it to that date. Wish us luck!

Brighton's 2

Mary came to the park with us to take some 2 year old pictures of Brighton. We had to chase him all around and snap a million pictures. It was very hard to get him to hold still but we got some real keepers! I just love his cute little face.

Life Changes

The four of us (including baby Tad) have been going through some big changes recently

Chris started his own dealership:

Chris recently opened a dealership in Lehi. In his first 2 weeks of being open they had sold 20 cars. His lot is at a perfect location right off the freeway. They have been working hard buying many cars to fill the lot, which can hold up to 150 cars! They have had no problem getting customers. Chris has always wanted to own his own dealership and I am so proud of him. This is a big change and was a little scary at first but since they have had such success so far we are really excited. The only down fall is that Chris has been working 12 hour days pretty much everyday to get it up and running. Bug and I miss him but we know it is worth it. Go Chris!

Shani had her last day teaching:

That's right, today was my last day. It is so crazy to think that now I am just a full time mommy. Teaching was so much fun. I have enjoyed the past 6 years so much and have worked with such wonderful kids. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to be part time the last two years. My class this year is super cute and I will miss them. My partner was great and I look forward to her being the full time teacher for the last 6 weeks of school. She did so much for me this year! Today we played baby shower games all morning and just had fun together. I stayed for the afternoon and got most of my sub plans done. What a relief. Now is is just me and Brighton. We have lots of cleaning and preparing for the new baby to do next week!

Brighton turned 2:

Look at my big boy! He is such a little stud and has grown so much in 2 years. His vocabulary is huge now and he is always trying out new words and putting them together into sentences. He loves to take care of his "poo bear" THe other day he put a diaper on him and rocked him to sleep. He will be the best helper. He kisses and talks to my belly all the time. He has decided that he loves to be naked and is very quick to take off his shirt. He is eating so good right now and will tell me, "I'm hungy mommy". He loves to eat ham and eggs, hotdogs, guacamole, noodles, and chicken. Oh and candy of course! He is obsessed with his little trike that Aunt Nikki gave him for christmas. He must ride it everyday outside and is very fast. He also loves to throw balls and play all the sporty things. He likes to fake fight and wrestle. I am so impressed with how easy his transition was into his big boy bed. He still waits for Chris and I to get him when he wakes up even though he could easily get out himself. He needs his 2 doggies, blankie from Grammy, and little blue pillow when sleeping. He loves to read books and copy when we say prayers. He has learned how to turn on the DVD player and will do so himself when he wants to watch a movie. He still loves to put on funny things and be the center of attention. He will do anything for a laugh. Even though he is such a jabber mouth and loves being around other people he also gets very shy when it is someone he doesn't know. He can be so independent at times, and other times still want to be the little baby. He had one last slumber party with Chris and I the other night before the new baby comes. He likes to sleep on Chris' chest and it is so precious. I love this kid to pieces and enjoy all our time together.

Baby Tad: Reaches full term.

That's right, early next week I will be 37 weeks and that is considered fully developed. We are getting more and more excited for this baby to come. Now only if we could pick a name!

Bellies, Beds, & Birthdays

33 Weeks already! Brighton has found a new hiding spot from me :) This baby will be here anytime within a month!!

Brighton turned 2 yesterday! He was so excited about his "Happy Day" He wore his birthday crown and sticker all during Daycare and brought blue and red cookies to share.

When he woke up we brought up his new bed into his new room to Celebrate.

Here is Brighton getting ready to take his first nap into his new bed. He came out twice telling me that he "wake up". After the second time I told him he had to stay there and not come out anymore. He stayed in his room yelling, "Mommy, COME HERE NOW!" over and over. After awhile he started reading a book and playing around a bit, all was quiet after about 45 minutes.

I snuck in to check on him and found the little one snoozing away. What a good boy!

Even after a successful nap I was still very nervous for bed time. Chris and I read to him and tucked him in. Chris stayed a little longer in the room. Brighton told him "Stay Here" but Chris explained that he needed to leave. He left the room and shut the door. We put a gate up on the top of the stairs in case he got up in the night and left our room open. I didn't sleep very well listening and waiting. I even left for work and he was still not up. Chris texted me and told me that when Brighton woke up he was whining from his room wanted to watch AstroBoy but he didn't get out of bed until Chris walked into the room. For his nap today he didn't get up once and went right down. I really had different expectations for Brighton's transition into his big boy bed, but so far so good! I'm sure we will have the long nights when he crawls out to see us but we are very excited about his progress so far.

Brighton and Madison have the same Birthday. She turned 7 yesterday. For their birthdays we went to a pizza buffet/arcade.

Really? Am I really this large all ready? I am about 31 1/2 weeks; still quite a few to go!! Brighton came over 2 weeks early and was already 7.7 lbs. I guess that is what I get for marrying a man who is 6' 3". I am feeling good though. The rest of my body, besides the belly, hasn't bloated as much as last time so that is nice. We are all getting very excited for our new baby!

Here are my four new digital scrapbooks! I am very proud of them. I use memory mixer to scrapbook my pages then wait for Winkflash.com to have their wonderful flat rate deal; 1 price up to 100 pages which all my books come very close too! I got a lot of scrapbooking done this summer when I was off work and Brighton took 4 hour naps. I was very lucky to have that time to finish some projects that I was behind on. Then winkflash had their deal so I had to get everything else done. It was a busy two weeks of me on the computer. Brighton is a little high maintenance so I could only do it while he was asleep which means no afternoon nap and late nights for prego me. But here they are and I am all caught up!! I splurged a little and got the custom covers this time. I like them so much better it was worth the few extra dollars.

*I actually have another little one that is Brighton's baby book, which he loves to look at but it is at the neighbor's right now.

As soon as I got my scrapbooks finished and turned in I started making these. I love them! These ones are for Brighton and baby Tad (still has no name so we call him that for now) I wanted a way to separate their diapers in the diaper bag. I love them and have started a few for some prego friends.

After that we had Kherrington stay with us for a few days: So FUN! but right after Brighton got sick. VERY SICK! The worst I had ever seen. While he was sick we went to Vegas. He started to get a little better there when I caught the cold. Now I am getting a little better and Chris has caught it. Come on! My parents were in town last weekend to help Heather and Jordan pack and take Heidi to a dance Camp. They might come back this weekend to help finish packing and say good bye :( Also, Chris' family is coming for little Payten's blessing. So fun, hopefully we will be better so we can play. After this weekend it is cleaning house and sleeping for me!

These two little peas on a pod had so much fun together the two days that we got to watch Kherrington. Brighton usually woke up first and would as for her over and over again until she got up. He would help me put her down for naps and bed, but then would cry about it. They loved eating together, playing, watching movies, and tearing apart the house. They both were so happy to be together all the time!

Growing up I was lucky enough to live close to my cousins and some of my most fondest memories come from playing with them. Brighton loves his cousins. I hope he will always be close to them so he can have the experiences that I was able to have. It was so much fun to see these two interact! They have such a cute relationship and have so much love for each other at such a young age.

Twins!!

Did you think it was me with the twins? Well it is, but only for 2 days. Kherrington's parents are out of town on a "business" trip so she is staying with us for a few days. She was very good last night and today for her nap and went right down. Sleep was my biggest worry, but so far so good. THe kids love being together and are wild non stop!! When Brighton woke up this morning all he wanted to do was "SEE" Kherrinton even though I explained many times that she was asleep. Making lunch and cleaning it up was easier because instead of Brighton tugging on me for attention he and Kherrington played. It was also nice to make a meal for 3 instead of 2. Sometimes making things is just too much work if it is only for Brighton and I. He is so ready for a sibling, to have some one to play with non stop. He will however have a hard time always sharing his toys but luckily that won't take place for a while. We wish that Kherrington lived closer so we could play everyday!!

Where do babies come from?

So yesterday I was a little late taking my 6th graders to lunch so a class of 2nd graders were in front of us. All the sudden I feel a rub on my tummy. I look down and there is a little boy rubbing it and he says, "Your having a baby" I told him, "Yes, I am" Then he turned around back into line. I turned to my students and asked them why they have never just rubbed by belly like that. They all laughed!

I thought he was done; but shortly after he turned back around and said, while touching my belly again, "Is he with Jesus right now?" I said, "nope, he's in here." So to that he replied, "and Jesus put him in there?" "yes he did." After that he turned around.

His curiosity got him again as he turned around to me for a last time and said, "How did Jesus put him in there?" To this I was unsure what to say, it seems obvious that that is what his parents have told him about babies it bellies so I replied the best I could by saying, "I don't know how he did that." Luckily it was now his turn to type in his lunch number. I looked at my students who were all laughing and just laughed. I hope he went home and talked to his parents about babies :)

Here's me at 27 weeks. Obviously the little runt is growing very quickly and also obvious is that I am getting zero sleep. Part of this is my fault as I have been working overtime on finishing some of my digital scrapbooks; which I have finally finished! And I started making diaper and wipes cases and love them! I'll post pictures soon!

The doctor said that baby's head is up top, not upside down. I dont like it because his head pokes me all the time in the ribs and sticks out. For some reason I would rather it was a foot. But it doesn't matter because he's healthy and I'm being cut open anyways.

Letter Of Intent...

Happy 100th post to me! That's pretty cool, the post is a big deal and life changing so kinda fun!

This week my principal brought in my "letter of intent" for the 2011-2012 school year. When I saw the letter I told her I would not be signing it and to not expect it back. She said she doesn't like it anymore than I do.

This is a picture of my first 6th grade class. This was my second year of teaching.

For the past 5 years I have checked the Yes box on the letter of intent saying I was returning the following year to teaching. 3 years had a complete yes, the last 2 had a Yes, If I can have part time.

Checking No-that was really hard for me.

I love teaching!! I love the classroom! I love all my students and feeling like I am making a difference. I love interaction with other adults everyday. I love having a reason to wake up and actually get ready in the morning. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but I think I'm a pretty good teacher. It is nice to have a little outlet away from home as well. Brighton and Chris have so much fun together in the mornings, I know they will always have a special bond because of the extra time they are able to spend together. I also love Brighton's daycare that he goes to a few times a week. He is well fed there, gets to interact with other children his age, and learns wonderful things like a letter, number and shape every week. He is great at 2 and wants 2, not 1, of everything. He likes to draw circles, and says the F sound all the time. He eats well there because he sees the other kids eat, and she has taught him the importance of cleaning up.

All this aside, I want to be a stay at home mommy. I have always wanted this, and will have two adorable little boys next year. I miss Brighton the 4 hours I am gone and know I can't get that time back. So, It was time for me to check No.

I will not be returning to the classroom the following year. It will be fun to be with my boys, but I know I will miss teaching. My new role as full time Mom is very exciting, overwhelming, but so important and I can't wait to get started.

Every year my life just gets better and better. I can't imagine that this will always continue. It is only a few weeks in and there are already so many fun things to look forward to this year: I will finish my 6th year of teaching in April and take a break to be a stay at home mom for who knows how many years, our new baby will be born in late April, Amy, Stephen, Lisa graduate from BYU, Kellie graduates from UVU, Chris' 10th high school reunion, beach trip with my family in July, Thanksgiving with the BIrds and Christmas with the Albrights. I know this year will be so much fun, but also bring many new trials with a new baby and one in his terrible twos. Here are some new pictures of me and my boys. I'm 23 weeks now and growing more and more everyday!

Bugs loves to kiss his little brother. He asks to hold babies every time he sees one and I know he will want to hold his brother all the time!

Sorry no pictures of Chris. He's not really changing at the moment...Brighton changes everyday and my belly just grows and grows. Chris has decided to not put on any "baby weight" this year so he looks good all the time.

Not only does Brighton look just like his daddy he loves all the things his daddy loves...CARS is large on the list. Last year for Christmas my parents got Brighton a push car and he has played with it pretty much everyday since the day he opened it. This year they got him an electric one. My dad charged it before it was wrapped so as soon as Brighton opened the car he was able to hop on and go. He had to get the hang of pushing the button instead of using his feet. The first night he would only push it for a second at a time so he kinda jerked around. Now he holds it down and goes all around the house. Both days he's had it he has worn the battery down.

Early Christmas

Since the married couples don't get to go home for Christmas this year Mama and Papa Albright came up to celebrate with us for an Early Christmas. It was so fun to have all the family together. The babies love to have all their aunts, uncles, and grandparents around and love the constant attention even more. We were spoiled with Christmas presents. They had to drive home in the Snow but were able to have a little White Christmas for a change.

Last night we went to see Santa at the ward Christmas Party. We had been prepping Brighton by pointing out Santa whenever we saw him in Christmas decorations, he has worn Santa PJ's the past few nights and we waved to him while in line. Brighton did alright; he liked the orange that Santa gave and at least he sat next to him :)

Over Thanksgiving Break our mom taught us how to sew Stockings. Amy came over last night and we finished ours so they are ready for Santa in a few weeks!! I am very proud of us! I am working on the new babies but it won't be completely done since we don't have a name picked out. Everyones will be made out of the same 5 fabrics but then each kid will have one fabric of their own. I love the dark blue in Brighton's. Chris loved it too since he tried to say that one was his but I got Brighton's name on it so he can't steal his. HAhA!! THanks mom we love our stockings!!

Amy couldn't decide to put Amy and Woody since someday they will be MOM and Dad but for now she thought Amy and Woody fit best. We really struggled with the puffy paint; it stinks that the last part can really mess up your stocking and there is no going back but we did pretty well after a few bloopers.

15 Weeks

Well...Here's me four weeks later. I have to say I look a bit smaller than expected. I've been a little sick lately. Threw up twice from poor prenatal vitamin choices, another time from food poisoning and had a horrible cold which really through off my appetite. I'm feeling much better now and love the second trimester. My nausea is gone and I am not as tired so I don't have to take a nap every day. Hooray! We heard the heartbeat yesterday at the doctors office. He said it was fast. We are so excited. I love how much my little boy loves other babies. He wants to hold and kiss them all the time. He is going to be the best big brother!

I had to include this one because he's just too dang cute! Brighton loves to wear hats lately and actually keeps them on. We're still looking for a super cute beanie for the cold weather coming up.

Halloween Fun!

These PJ's were bought by my mom. They describe Brighton completely. He was up late Halloween night and all through the night because he had a tummy ache from all his candy!

Someday we will get Chris to match us.

The whole fam went Trick or Treating at the mall. We got there a little late so only a few stores had candy left.

Bugs loved the idea of walking around and getting candy in his bucket.

Here are the little cuties Trick or Treating in the neighborhood. They were very cold but didn't mind one bit as long as people kept putting candy in their buckets. I think this will always be their favorite holiday.

Him and Kherrington took baths afterwards. We had to get all the paint out of his hair. A short time after Kherrington got out Brighton told me "poop" so I said ok go. And he did!! AHHHHH

18 months

I can't believe my little man is so old! How fast time flies! Brighton always gets the same comment. "He looks like such a little man!" and I couldn't agree more. I feel like this kid just came out of me looking all grown up. His personality is definitely starting to shine through and he is going to be a stubborn one who always wants his way. He can easily copy all the words that come out of our mouths now but he has picked up two that he just loves "Don't" and "Stop it" Oh man. Brighton's main goal in life is just like his daddy's...To always have fun. He loves cars and four wheelers. Him and Chris take daily rides on his Can am. My mom bought Chris a remote control car. Brighton sits on the kitchen floor controlling it many times a day. He gives the best hugs and kisses and is such a little sweetheart. He seems to know when he is tired and does not fight being put down for his nap or bed time. He loves to read books. If reading by himself he will make up words as he looks at the pages. He no longer needs his bottle, thanks mom!!! and has gotten so much better at eating. He even will ask for food. His favorites are apples and bananas, chicken, noodles, and chips. Brighton has decided that he does not need his booster seat anymore and likes to stand on the chair as he eats. He is always on the go, always wanting to be outside and doing something. He loves to throw balls and push things around the house. He enjoys playing with other kids, or adults. As long as he gets attention. He continues to love animals and will bark at all the dogs he sees. I hope that I will be able to nurture his fun loving personality and keep up with his busy little life. I know Brighton will be the best big brother to all his siblings. He loves every baby he sees; kisses them and tickles their feet. He is constantly looking at our baby book to see pictures of the baby. We are so blessed to have Brighton in our lives!!

Sick & Tired

And Pregnant!!!

Yep! The rumors are true. Baby number 2 is on its way in the beginning of May!! I am doing well, feeling a little sick but luckily I'm not the throwing up type. I am always exhausted and take a nap after school just about everyday. We were able to go to the Doctor's yesterday. He did an ultrasound and we saw the cute little thing. It kind of gave us a little wave. Brighton loves to read the Week By Week book with me and look at pictures of the baby. He will be playing downstairs, remember the baby, grab my hand and drag me upstairs to look at the pictures in the book, and kiss them. He loves to kiss the baby. Whenever he sees a car seat he says "Baby!" and runs to look inside. I know that Brighton will be the best big brother and absolutely love having a sibling around.

I'm around 11 weeks here. I like taking the photos in the morning because my belly is so much smaller. I barely look pregnant here but by night you can tell!

We are so excited for Stephen and Lisa. The wedding day turned out perfect after much concern over the weather. Brighton loved every minute of the day, running around in his cute little suit and entertaining all. He was the first to run up to Stephen and lIsa when they came out of the temple; he knew there was something special about this day for them. He loved to sit on the photo stairs, eat his pretzels, and get his picture taken. It is always wonderful to attend a wedding and remember my vows to my amazing husband. I am so grateful for the temple and the ordinances taken place there!

Newport Beach 2010

Ever since I was 6 weeks old my family has been going to Newport Beach, CA for a week every summer. I have always loved going and it is fun to see how the vacation changes as our family changes. This year was so fun for Brighton. He loved playing in the waves and sand everyday. It was pretty cold for most of th week, until Thursday and Friday. He would still get in the water and get completely soaked! He would run in with his dad towards the wave. After getting wet he would run back up to me with a huge smile on his face and arms open for a hug. Brighton also loved the sand, he threw it, tried to burry people, and destroy sand castles. We also went to Huntington Beach, Fasion Island, and the OC fair. Brighton will always be an early bird; and doesn't adjust to time changes which means he woke up between 6 and 630 every morning. My mother was so sweet to get up with us and we would walk to the peir and back. It became a very popular event for the mornings. Sometimes we were joined by Kherrington, Heather, and Amy. We missed Uncle Adam and hope he will be there with us next year. Thanks MOm and Dad for taking us!!

Wow! Two years! Chris and I both agree that it seems so much longer than that, maybe because we dated forever, and maybe because we have done sooooo many things in just two years! For our anniversary this year Kim and Alan got us a hotel stay in Park City. We left our little bugaboo with Amy & Woody and headed up Monday night. The place was beautiful. They had an adults only relaxation pool inside. It was so warm and like the name said, relaxing. We also went swimming in the outside pool that was filled with kids. For dinner we went to Bandits and Barbeque and Steak house. We both got all you could eat bbq ribs, steak, chicken, pulled pork... you name it. The food was great and we were pleased with the bill. We stopped by The Family Tree, a genealogy place in Park City. I showed Chris my Great Great Grandpa Earl on the large family tree right when you walk in. It shows the many famous people we are related to, Joseph Smith, President Bush. Earl's Grandson put the information together to see who is family was related to. A General Authority saw the tree and decided to publish it there. Pretty cool! The next day we went to the outlets. We hit the jackpot in Carter's for Bug, got Chris some new polo's and khaki shorts, both buy one get one free. I got some new shirts and a cool hat. Then we headed home to get our Bug who we had missed so much!!

Brighton did so well with Amy and Woody. He luckily slept the whole night through, ate a few things and played hard. If Amy would leave the room he would call "MA" after her. He watched some animal videos with Woody and enjoyed growling back at the animals. When Amy went to work Woody took him to their apartment in Provo. He ran around for a bit, then laid his little self on the floor and took a nap. It is still unbelievable to me that he did this even though I got there in time to witness his sleeping. Crazy kid!

15 Months

I can't believe that my little bug is so old. He gets cuter with age and his energy seems to double just about everyday. He is in constant motion running back and fourth until he crashes for a nap or bed. He is always in need of attention and will find ways to get it when you are not looking at him. For example, if I am doing dishes or cooking he will stand by me and turn my body away from the counter and towards him then lift up his arms for an embrace. LOVE! He knows how to go down the stairs on his own but refuses to do so anymore. He thinks he is a big boy and likes to try to walk up and down them. His favorite toys are still his push car, and any type of ball. He has learned to say vroom vroom when playing with cars. He has finally learned mom, yeaha!, can also say Bottle, Shoe, Brighton, Deven-his uncle next door, loves to say hi to people walking by. More is still the word we most often hear come out of his mouth. Smiles HUGE when asked to Cheese for a picture. If we call my parents on the video phone he reaches and asks for Molly the whole time. Every dog he sees is called Molly, chased after, and barked at. He has to go outside every day. He will bring me his shoes, after I put them on he runs to the door. He continues to love to play in water, he enjoys sprinklers, baths, and pools. Since I am a stay at home mom for a few months he has learned that I am the best thing on earth and doesn't leave my side. He loves to drink his bottles and will not give up if he sees one. This is a great accomplishment since we worked the whole last year to get him to drink. He is eating better and enjoys things like mushy carrots, mushrooms, black beans, italian salads, cheeto puffs (which he insists on wiping his orange hands on me when he is finished). Oddly enough he does not like cookies or ice cream. He has begun to find joy in climbing up on things and standing tall. He has a very loud voice and lets his presence be known! He holds phones up to his ear and says Hi, points remotes at the tv and pushes buttons, blows on peoples bellies, gives the best kisses in the world, pushes Chris and I together to get us to kiss, tries to put on peoples shoes, and goes everywhere with either Winston or Blink, his beanie baby dogs. It is so amazing how much kids learn just through watching their parents and other people. I am having the best summer of my life right now with this amazing little boy!!

Pool Toys

It is so funny how opposite he and Kherrington are. She took a little getting used to the pool and very sweetly splashed. He was ready to jump right in and splash to his hearts content.

Happy Father's Day

I am one of the luckiest girls (since I have three sisters they are just as lucky) to have the father I do. I would have to say that he is the funniest and silliest one out there. One of our favorite games at bed time was called "wrong answer". He would ask a question, if we got it wrong (which was usually) we would be tickled. I remember dancing with him many times in the family room just for fun. I had borrowed his nano once and filled it with my music, he had used it too at this time while working out. When I gave it back I took my stuff off and replaced it with all his. He came up from working out and said "Hey where's all my music," then started singing, "shake it and jiggle it shake it and jiggle it." Not only was he always funny he was always so kind and loving. He was always there during a break up and always gave me so much support. He has such a strong testimony; I can't count the numerous times I saw him praying or reading scriptures growing up. I love that he and Chris have lots of likes in common, they love to talk about cars and go golfing together. Thanks dad for all you do and have done!

Brighton and Chris have the sweetest bond. They are lucky to been able to spend so much time together over the school year as Chris would watch him while I was teaching. Since I am home full time right now Chris has been working more. They miss each other tons and wrestle as soon as Chris gets home. Brighton will bring me the phone and say, "Da" wanting me to call him so they can chat. No one can make Brighton giggle like Chris can. Brighton is already following in his father's footsteps and is obsessed with motor vehicles. If he sees our four wheeler or can am spider he reaches for it and cries until we put him on it. They are so cute together. I know that they will have the best of times as Brighton grows up and is able to do more with his dad. There is such a special love between them.

Today we went and got Brighton's staples out. He held very still for the first one, wiggled on the second, and tried to get away on the third. Because of his wiggling the third one bled a little bit but everything looks good. He's such a trooper.

This is a debate that has been going on at my house since Brighton arrived. It seems like when someone has a problem (sickness, or ouchy) the adults actually act like babies more than the babies. For example...

When Brighton has the stomache flu he acts a little off but still plays and runs around like nothing is wrong. He throws up then goes back to doing whatever he was doing before.
When Chris and I are sick we complain and lay in bed all day feeling miserable. No playing takes place

When Brighton has a cold he goes about doing his normal activies; nothing new. He even lets the goo ooze from his nose like nothing is happening (YUCK!)

Brighton had a large sty on his eye for about a week. It was huge! and for a while his eye looked about half open. He never noticed, didn't even touch it once to show that it bothered him!!
I had a sty for one night, it drove me nuts!! I complained, touched it, picked at it and was so grateful to wake up with it gone the next day.

Brighton set off yesterday to prove this point once again. We were playing at Kherrington and Heather's house this afternoon. Brighton was running around, nothing new there, ran into a door frame then bounced off and hit his head on the door behind him. He started screaming and crying quite hard. I ran and picked him up and brought him into the kitchen where he continued to cry. Normally he stops pretty quickly but I could tell this was a little worse. Then Heather noticed there was blood running down his head! We tried to clean it off and see how deep it was but just couldn't tell. Finally he let me put him down so i could take a closer look. Sure enough it was split open and not a pretty sight. This is about when I lost it and started crying. Amy and I packed up and headed for the closest Urgent Care. On the way Brighton played in the back with Amy, asking for more food (more has become his favorite word along with no) and jabbering away. Of course, acting like nothing was wrong.

Chris met us at the Urgent Care. There my poor little baby had to get 3 staples in his head! He did act like a baby during the numbing and stapling, not that I blame him. When it was finished they gave him a lollipop and he was back to normal.
Amy and I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for Sunday. Stephen and LIsa came by to see the little guy. He was giggling and playing "fetch the cow" (he would throw the stuffed animal they bought him on the floor and laugh as we continually picked it up).
I'm pretty sure that if I cracked my head open I would once again complain and want to lay in bed all day.

So the question remains...Who really is the baby?

Washington

After school got out we went to Washington for a little over a week. Chris' parents are making a huge water feature in the front of the home and wanted a little help. Chris clocked over 60 hours laying the brick with his mom, dad, and grandpa. Brighton and I played. Brighton loved being able to run around their huge yard and always wanted to be outside. Grandma Judy came over almost everyday to play with us. She brought over her slip and slide for Brighton. He loved it and would just sit with the sprinkler spraying him. We also went on four wheeler rides, and had fun picking up pine cones. Over memorial Day weekend Chris was able to get a break as we stayed up at their lake house. The water was pretty cold but that didn't keep Chris from getting out there on the Skyski and surfboard.

School's Out!

I can't believe that it is already the end of May. Yesterday was the last day of school. It seemed like this month just flew by. This was my fifth year teaching. Every year brings new challenges, personalities, and fun. I had up to 36 students at one point, but 34 in the end. They were such sweet kids that truly enjoyed being at school. Because of the large class size they were very noisey-to be expected; but also the most messy class I have ever had. My partner cleaned before she took them to lunch and we spent lots of time cleaning before the end of the bell. It amazed me how quickly they could turn the classroom inside out. They also were the most "huggy" class I have ever had. They loved to joke around and have a good time. I wish them all the best in Jr. High

My partner for this year was Katie Davis. She is one of the best teachers I have ever met. Her ideas and lessons were always well thought out and enjoyable for the students. She is able to stay home full time next year with her baby and I am excited for her but will really miss her as my second half. Next year I will be teaching math, science, and social studies in the morning. I really missed math this year! My new partner is Rachel Hansen, a new teacher, very sweet and very excited to teach. She will be a wonderful addition to the classroom. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to teach part time and spend the rest of the time at home with my super cute kid and handsome husband!

I just love this picture because Brighton's Belly looks so large and in charge! You wouldn't be able to tell from the pic that I spend my life worrying about how much he is eating. We used to sit in the high chair for an hour and get about 4 bites in. Recently he has been doing so much better and I have found somethings that he will always eat. The belly for now is mostly from Big Kid formula and whole milk. Hopefully within the next couple weeks it will be a belly full of food!

I was so excited to finally update my blog. I took some cute pictures this week and got on today to upload them only to find out that I can't find the sd card thingy. So instead I worked on my digital scrapbook. I have always been an avid scrapbooker, and love doing it. One this will always frustrate me though, I WILL NEVER CATCH UP!! No matter how hard I work, more pictures and events keep arriving! Is there anyone out there that is actually caught up? I am working on last years Christmas right now, when that is done I will have all of 2009 complete. Pretty good right? Did I tell you that it is about 200 pages long! I tried to make it less, but my kid is so dang cute I can only delete so many photos!Thanks goodness for the website winkflash.com that has deals on printing photo books!
Well lets not forget to mention that I skipped about a whole year to get there and am trying to also finish that. Luckily, high school - college is done, plus my first two and a half years of teaching YEAH! My mom did pretty good at a baby book, but what about older elementary and middle school? Our wedding? That is a project that will take some time, probably why I chose to skip most of 2008. There will never be enough time in the day for all the many projects I would like to complete.
On that note, one week left of school, then I will have four more hours of the day. I already have them planned out with playing with my cutie pie, cleaning house, working out, playdates with cousins and friends, maybe I can squeeze in a little extra scrapbooking and sleep. :) Good luck to everyone with forever and ongoing to do lists!

I can't believe how fast this year went by and that my little boy is already a year old! It has been the most enjoyable year of my life. I have learned so many new things, gotten the least amount of sleep in my life, and laughed and smiled more than ever. I love watching my two boys play together. Brighton absolutely lives his daddy and giggles ever morning when we go in to wake chris up. Brighton is always the first one up in our house. Here's some things he does:
Plays peekaboo by squatting in the middle of the room and saying boo
Makes fish faces
Has six teeth
Lifts up shirts and blows raspberries
Eats some solid food like chicken, yogurt, string cheese, and bananas
Tries to use a spoon on his own
Carries his doggies everywhere he goes
Takes two naps during the day and sleeps from about 930 till 700 at night.
Crawls up and down the stairs
Loves to be chased and squawks if you are not following him
Gives hugs and kisses
His hair grows like a weed and has had about 12 hair cuts
Loves his cousins Kherrington, Madison, and Tanner and laughs and smiles when he sees them
Dances when ever there is music on

While in Vegas we went to a little area called Desert Shores where I lived when I was little. My cousins and I used to ride our bikes around to the lakes and shops and we always fed the ducks. Chris was very excited to show this to Brighton. It was amazing how fast the ducks came, and kept coming as we fed them Brighton's Cheerios. Eventually the ducks were getting too close so we had to stop.

Today our first payment on our house was due so I thought it was about time to get some pictures up on the house. We are still working on some of the rooms but have made a lot of progress. Kim and Alan were in town for Thanksgiving. They helped us build in another shelf in our closet, add shelves to the linen closet and in the pantry. They also did lots of hanging. We love our new house and are enjoying the area and neighbors.

So I know a lot of people are waiting for a post with us in our new house. Well, we're still not there and are unsure when we will be closing. We are still waiting on a grant to go through ($4,000 worth the wait) The house is completed and we are packed so as soon as we get the go ahead. I am so antsy to be in my house, get all organized and decorate!!

Brighton turns 7 months this week. I can't believe how big he is!! He is moving everywhere-really getting his legs involved now so he can go faster. He has learned to climb over CHris and I so we can no longer road block :( He has been eating his bottles a little better but now decided that he doesn't like his baby food. Oh man!! Mostly he still doesn't sleep through the night but it is alright because he is just so dang cute! I love my little stud!!

My little truck turned so old this week! I can't believe that I got it with only 2,000 miles. It has been such a wonderful car!!

Recently Chris turned 27 and Brighton 6 months.

The doctor told us he is in the 70th % for height and only 21 % for weight. What can I say, the kid thinks he has too much else to do in the world than eat. He is moving all over the place and can get any where he wants. He smiles all day long and loves life. Brighton goes to bed right at 9 every night, we are still working on sleeping through the night but the doctor gave us some great ideas that have been really working. He gets up at 7 and is great about taking his three naps everyday. He is our little bundle of joy and I couldn't imagine life without him.

In other news: This week i was able to start teaching part time. It has been so nice to be home in the mornings with my husband and baby. Our house is coming right along, it is all painted and has the cupboards and flooring in. Pictures soon to come

Brighton finally found his toes, and loves them!

I went back to teaching last week. I have just an adorable class this year, they all love learning and are so smart! I am lucky for this because there are 32 of them, but are easy to manage. It is so hard leaving my little one every morning, I feel like I am missing out on so much. Luckily in four weeks I will be able to teach part time for the rest of the year. My partner that I am teaching with is on maternity leave at the moment but I eagerly wait for her to join me in the classroom. How blessed I am to have a principal that allows this. I will then be at school only in the afternoons and get to have so much more time with Brighton. I am also extremely lucky to have a husband that takes care of baby all day. They just play and play! Brighton is learning so many new things. His latest is playing with his toes, he just loves it. He has gotten so good and rolling in all directions and ways. He is doing very well with sitting up and can do it for many seconds. He is starting to try and crawl, already!! He can lift his whole body up and get his knees underneath him, and finally he is eating so much better and sleeping so much better!!!!! He still has constant smiles, laughs and conversations. I just love this kid more and more each day!

Brighton likes to think that he is older than he really is. He never wants to be held like a little baby, and always wants to stand. He absolutely loves to look around and take in his surroundings. It is completely impossible to feed him in public because he is just to interested in everything else besides his bottle. Yesterday we started him on rice cereal (pics to come when I find my thing to download) and he did so well. He already tries to grab my food everytime I am eating and likes to lick the plate :)

I have been to Newport Beach every year since I was a little girl. It was so fun to have our babies this year, but definitely changed things! We played on the beach, skim boarded, surf boarded, boogie boarded, body boarded, watched HUGE waves from a storm in Tahiti, and enjoyed watching the little babies explore new things. Brighton loved to play with his feet in the sand and stand up by the waves as they got his little toes.

We all traveled down to Vegas last weekend for our Grandpa Vern's 80th birthday party. It was so fun to introduce our babies to Vegas and our many friends and families there.

No matter what people said before my baby arrived, I did not understand the joys and difficulties I would face as a mom. I am constantly surprised by the amount of love Chris and I have for the little guy; but equally surprised at how hard it has been. I often wonder...Will I ever be able to sleep again? I am always worried about him, and want to just snuggle him all day long!

Everydat Brighton has tummy time and plays in his Bumbo seat. He is so strong already!

This was Brighton's first bottle. He had no trouble taking it. Once he had two in one day. That night ha didn't want to eat regularly. I think he figured out the bottle is easier.

Brighton and I have been having tons of fun together the past week. We love to party all night long! I think there has been two good sleep nights, but that's alright, he's just so dang cute you can't get mad. Here are a few of our highlights from the week.

Being a mom is wonderful. It is definitely very hard but every time I look at my buddy Brighton I know that it is all worth it. Chris always kisses him and says "I love you so much" that is just how we feel. The love came so fast and in such a large amount. We are so blessed to have Brighton in our lives!

So I am finally home and ready to make contact with the world. Brighton decided he had no more room left in mommy and came about two weeks early. Labor was long and I ended up needing a C-section. I guess my hip bones just weren't big enough. This was actually my first time in the hospital and definitely was an experience. Brighton's Jaundice score jumped on the last day we were there and he had to be put under the "lights". We also have been keeping him on lights while at home, but got him tested this morning and he is doing much better and is able to be off the lights tonight. It was so fun to have him come out with so much hair, we just love it! Grandpa Alan emailed a picture of Chris when he was a baby and they are just identical! My mom laughs when I hold this dark hair, olive skin little boy. He was extremely wiggly when he was in my stomach and this has not changed. He loves to be snuggled in up close. My mom and Chris' mom were both able to make it down for the delivery and it was so nice to have them here throughout the week. Being new parents we were clueless and needed lots of help. Also, since he was early the apartment wasn't ready and Chris and his mom took lots of time to clean and get it ready while my mom was with me in the hospital. Well, that's enough for now, I've got to go and snuggle my new little one!

Pregnancy

Being pregnant definitely comes with its highs and lows. Some highs are knowing that soon I will have a little baby in my arms, the closeness it brings Chris and I, feeling him move inside and knowing he will be a little wiggle worm, picking out baby things, the excitement of others and so much more.

Another high is getting my very own parking space!

Baby Showers have been an absolute high, thanks to all those who have helped out!

But then of course some lows are pain when he moves, elephant feet, retaining water, back pain, wanting to diet and work out to get rid of this ridiculous weight, sleepless nights, and LABOR AHHHHH!
It will all be worth it in the end.

It is amazing to think back to our Valentines Day last year and think about the many things that have happened since then. I am so lucky to have the best Valentine ever!! Being pregnant, teaching, and taking courses for my masters has left me extremely tired by the end of each day. When I get home from work Chris has cleaned the house and always volunteers to make dinner for me. I don't know how I could survive this without him. Every week he asks me when our baby will be coming out so he can play with him. Chris will be an excellent father! I just wanted a to give a little shout out to my amazing husband!

So I guess it's about time I updated my blog! Life has been busy lately preparing for a baby, teaching, masters courses, and looking for houses but its been a lot of fun! I cannot believe that I am already in my third trimester. I'll be a mommy before I know it!!

My parents and Heidi came up for the three day weekend to celebrate mom's birthday. It was fun to play with them!! This is the Baskin Robbins cake Kellie made for her birthday.

Thanksgiving

It was so fun to be home for the holidays. I also couldn't help but love the beautiful weather. We were able to play frisbee golf, kickball with the cousins, go shopping at the new outside mall--love it, eat a delicious Turkey dinner with my family, and the boys all went golfing. Friday morning my mom and I went to Walmart at 7:00 to get some deals. We're definitely not the four o'clock goers. On the way in I told my mom we should change personalities and grab things out of peoples carts, elbowing and throwing punches to get what we went. Not five minutes after we entered the store I had my chance. I really had my heart set on getting a car beanbag for Brighton's room. We saw a lady shoving one in her cart and asked where she got it. She told us that it was the very last one. My mom gave me the look, "Here's your chance." But I just couldn't do it. Sadly I watched the lady walk away with my beanbag in her cart. :( Better luck next time. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I am so glad it is December and will be putting up the Christmas Decorations tomorrow. Merry Christmas!

Dinosaur Museum

Last weekend Chris took a few hours off work and we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point with Jenn, Aaron, Seinna, and Austin. It amazes me how bit the bones are. The Museum was such a fun place and so kid friendly!

Chris and I went to the doctors today and were able to see, with out a doubt, what gender our baby is. We are having a boy!! His name will be Brighton Christopher, and we are so excited. Chris' face was so cute when the doctor announced that it was a boy! Everything is growing normally and there were no concerns about his health. Because I'm pregnant a joint at the end of my spine has shifted and is creating an immense pain in my bum. The doctor gave me some stretches to do so hopefully it will realign every quickly so I can get back to my life. After the appointment I went to the mall and bought three little blue onesies for Brighton and some blue maternity shirts for me. I was so excited to know what our baby is so I am now able to start buying things. Hooray for baby boys!!

What We've Been up To

Life has been crazy like usual. We've had fun the past couple of months and are loving married life. I am growing quickly out of all my clothes. It seems like each week my stomach gets bigger and bigger. I am in a definite crossroads because I am too big for my regular stuff but still too small for pregnancy clothing. Also, I'm not used to looking like this so when I try anything on I don't like it. Eventually I'll just have to suck it up and get used to my prego belly.
Here are a few things we have been doing...

We took a few days off work to go to Lake Powell with Josh, NIkki, Kellie, Julie, and Mike. It was my first time going and I was a little nervous at first but ended up having a blast, except for the whole no toilet business! The boys have a surf board that we body boarded on. It was soo fun, and you could go for hours with out hanging on the the rope. It is definitely one of my new favorite things. Madison got on my back for a few rides and loved it. Chris' water talents always seem to amaze me, there is nothing he can't do!

A little over a week ago, Heidi and my mom came up to Utah and the "Albright girls" went to So You Think You Can Dance concert together. It was great and I look forward to going again year after year.

And Chris turned 26. Thanks to all those who came out to celebrate with us. I still remember the year he turned 22 and we had a double birthday with his cousin Jason. I can't believe that was four years ago, wow time flies by!

Announcing Cruiser!!

Well, it has finally come time to tell the world that Chris and I are pregnant! We actually have known for quite a while but wanted to make sure there would be no complications. Last week we went to the doctors for the first time and saw our little cruiser-the development already is amazing. Why do we call the baby cruiser? If you remember, we were on a cruise for our honeymoon; if you still have a question let us know! Cruiser is due in April. This week I told my students I was pregnant, they were so cute and excited. One of my girls said, "I thought you were skinnier last year." We all got a pretty good laugh. Since there is basically no room in my torso I am actually showing a little bit already. I will have about 6 weeks of maternity and then get to go back to my class for probably the last two weeks of school. The hardest part will be finishing up my masters in June, but it will definitely get done! We are loving being married and expecting. Chris has been super sweet and will get me anything I need: toast, crackers, water, fruit, my prenatals. The list goes on forever. We are looking forward to being parents and can't wait for the special day. We are almost done with our first trimester and the sickness actually hasn't been too bad. As long as I snack every two hours I am pretty much fine. If you have any pregnant tips let me know!

Family Fun!

Chris, Jordan, and my dad went golfing last Saturday from their backyard. They had to come in for a bit to get away from the hail, but they went right back out when it was gone.

We found a little "beach area" in spanish fork. The water was ice, and the sand like pieces on concrete, but hey it's a beach.

On Thursday Josh, NIkki, Mike, Julie, Heather, Jordan, and Chris went and spent a day on the lake. Stephen and I met them there around 5 after they had been boating already for four hours. It was so fun to see all the things they could do on the surf board.

Finally Settling Down

We have been on the run ever since the wedding. We had the best honeymoon MONTH anyone could ask for as we ran around with each other and our fun families. Here's some highlights from our trips after the honeymoon. Honeymoon pictures will come soon!

After our honeymoon my family picked us up from the port and took us to Newport to stay on the beach for the week. It was a lot of fun but we missed having the whole family there.

Every year we build a few sandcastles. This is one of my favorite ever!

We enjoyed going to Sea World one day. I love to watch the animals and am amazed at the training people can do with them.

Chris was dying all day to go on the new City of Atlantis ride. We went late at night after all the shows and were able to go on three times in a row with no wait.

From there we drove up to Idaho to meet the Bird family for their summer reunion. The extended family was there for a few days and we stayed a little longer with just Chris' family.

We spent a day in Yellowstone, saw pretty sights but not many animals. :(

Geocashing was fun, the boys and kellie hiked up huge rocks to find a ammo case filled with little trinkets.

In Idaho we found the best Sand Dunes, Pictures don't do it justice. I hopped on the four-wheeler with Chris and held on tight! Kim was amazed at what I would let him take me up and down!!

After Idaho we drove to Washington the play for a week.
Grandpa Bill took Chris and I around the farm. We picked potatoes and corn to eat that night. I couldn't believe how many potatoes were under the pile of dirt. My family came up and we also went through the potato plant. What a production!

Of course we spent many days staying on the lake relaxing, wakeboarding, riding on the aqua tracks, and enjoying the area.

Our Open House in Washington turned out gorgeous. We decorated their backyard with tons of pink ribbons and flowers.

We put my hair extensions on Madison that night after the open house. She wanted to wear them to church the next day.

After all our vacations we are finally home. It was so fun but I was happy to be back. I have already been teaching for the past three years. My students seem really sweet this year. Chris has been the best husband ever working hard to put the apartment together. He even went to Walmart for me one night at 12 to pick up things I needed for school the next day while I went to bed. Being married has been even better than I imagined.

Life is crazy right now and it kills me to not be able to download tons of our wedding pictures on to our blog so here is a little teaser. We love being married and are in the middle of our month long of vacations. Thanks to all who attended and sent there love. It was definitely the best day of our lives!

In my mind I thought when the wedding is really close that people stay home, plan, pack, and make sure everything is ready to go. In Chris' mind he thinks people play, play, play and not worry about anything. This is our compromise.

I promised my soon to be niece that as soon as my classes were over we would have a Shani and Madison day. She would constantly ask me when I was done with school and we would plan what we would do for our day. My second day off I called Nikki up to see if Madison could spend the night, she was very excited and started packing right away. That night we watched Peter Pan and talked until 1 a.m. while laying in bed. The next morning she woke up bright and early ready to go to the pool. We had lunch, put on our swimming suits and sun screen and walked over. After swimming for a while she was hungry again so we went inside. Sadly, Madison was not fond of my wheat bread so we decided to get manicures and pedicures then some fast food. She kept giggling during her pedicure because it tickled and asked why the people talked funny. We then got her some food at the mall and walked around. After we helped Chris pack up his apartment a little. Whenever her parents would call she would take the phone and say, "I love you, BYE!" and refuse to talk to them again. Around nine that night Nikki and Josh came by to take her back. We had so much fun together and I look forward to many more Shani and Madison days in the future.

Chris and my dad went golfing together while my mom and I got the wedding invitations ready to be sent out. They were cute twinners!

We also got to see Heidi's Bunker Dance Recital. She did a great job!
